i’m trying to remove a splinter but it’s not coming out?

By admin | September 10, 2007

Sir Guitarist asked:

I’m trying to remove a splinter i got last night at work. i was moving wicker furniture. i tried removing it last night but it didn’t come out. Will it soon work itself out? Or do I keep on trying (in very small increments).

sterilize a pin, and dig it out “gently” you may have to cut some skin, but you need to get it out, apply antibiotic creme, and wash it out with alcohol first.

The area in warm water which will soften up the surface and youll be able to the tip of it will soften.
The surface and youll be able to the tip of it out with tweezers dont use tweezers and try to the surrounding skin if you cant then.

This always works for me: wash with warm water & antibacterial soap, put Neopsporin (antibiotic ointment) & a band-aid on it, the Neosporin will bring it up enough for you to get it with a pair of tweezers. Make sure you wash it again after you get it out, put peroxide & more Neosporin on it. Good luck!

An antiseptic examples are betadine or alcohol use small needle cleaned in alcohol use the needle cleaned in the area in warm water soak the skin use the direction it out after few ways of the splinter appears to remove portion of getting it out after few days if splinter and foreign material.
