Is it true that there is a different R-rated and G-rated version for “The wicker Man” movie?

Inquirer asked:
I have seen the movie before and it look like a G-rated movie with not too much Gore, bloods. The movie deal with the subject of witchcraft but I didn’t see any sex scenes of orgies in it.But a friend of mine tell me that they had to cut many scenes to make the movie acceptable to general public and there is a different copy of the movie.
