natural or artificial rattan?

I’m buying a set of furnitures and my designer designed them as artificial rattan while my supplier built them as natural rattan. Which one is better? Is artificial rattan more durable? I thought natural rattan will look better plus it is cheaper. Rattan can last at least 10 years right?
