      Wicker basket this is out of 500 to 600 winerys in tuscany that produce chianti it was originally used to make and less expensive than the round bottle fiasco flask.

      The traditional wine bottle was lot easier to make and less expensive than the wicker bottle so would guess that it was more economical.
