wicker furniture???

By admin | June 19, 2007

kiwi asked:

My daughter bought a wicker set to be used outside her home. Has a dark finish on the set, and comes with a red puffy cushion on the loveseat. 2 chairs, loveseat and a table. Is there any reason she can’t use this in her yard? She thought maybe there was some kind of spray that might waterproof it for use in the yard. What would you suggest?

Or, would she be better off putting the whole set on her porch? There is a metal roof over the porch, tho 3 sides are open.

I would most definetly put it under roof. Wicker splits very easily when it get wet. If she paints it she would have to spray it in order to get in all the cracks and crevices of the wicker. She should also never, never, leave wicker out in the winter time as it gets brittle and cracks and splits and then she is out the money.I learned the hard way about wicker. I have two sets.

Wicker cannot be used where it is exposed to rain. Keep in porch.
